Nearly invisible braces can be a discrete solution for the straightening of misaligned and crooked teeth.
The ‘braces’ are considered comfortable and convenient as they can be removed for eating or drinking.
Invisalign® Aligners are nearly invisible so no one will know you are wearing them
Treatment time with most cases only taking from 6 months to 12 months to complete
Unlike metal braces the Aligners are removed when eating therefore preventing a restricted diet
They are easy to clean
Stages in Invisalign® treatment:
1st Stage
Othodontic diagnostic visit to determine suitability of Invisalign
2nd Stage
Prescription, diagnostic forms, impressions, photographs and X-rays are taken. These are sent to America where a 3D animation is made to enable us to see the predicted final result
3rd Stage
Patients view their animation of their treatment based on treatment objectives. If satisfactory, the case becomes approved and aligners are manufactured
4th Stage
The aligners arrive from the US and are ready to be fitted
Each Invisalign® Aligner is worn for 2-3 weeks full time, removing them only to eat, brush and floss. You will need to visit your dentist on occasion to ensure treatment is progressing according to the animation
More visits may be needed depending on the complexity of treatment and if IPR/attachments/elastics are utilised
How do the Aligners move my teeth?
As each Aligner is changed every 2 weeks a small degree of pressure is placed on the teeth causing gradual movement
What happens after teeth are straightened?
Retainers need to be worn full time for 3 months followed by a year of night time wear. We always suggest to patients that they continue life long wear of retainers to ensure stability of result
